This villa is a unique and very private residence that has been carved into the natural rock formations on a forested and remote south Koh Samui hillside.
This villa is a unique and very private residence that has been carved into the natural rock formations on a forested and remote south Koh Samui hillside.
Positioned high up on the mountain side the villa offers spectacular ocean views and three unique living spaces that have been imaginatively built around the rock face, successfully blurring the lines between architecture and nature.
The property is accessed via a private winding road above it. From here stone steps wind their way around granite rock to the impressive, teak built, vaulted ceiling entrance hall. Double teak hardwood doors open into the master suite that comprises split level living and sleeping accommodation. On the lower level is an impressive four poster bed and on the granite that rises through the floor sits a single day bed which has been created using an impressive slab of rare green Kanchanaburi river stone.
The room is surrounded by a large balcony and offers spectacular panoramic views of the ocean and surrounding islands.
On the second level you will find a dressing area and bathroom that has exposed rock features and a terrazzo bath that has been literally been built around the rock. A sliding wooden panel reveals the views from the balcony below. Outside the room and again built into the rock is a very private outdoor shower that provides the ultimate outdoor bathing experience. From the entrance to the master suite stone steps meander down through virgin rain forest, lush gardens and huge granite rock outcrops to the main villa that is accessed by double hard teak wood doors.
As soon as these doors are opened you will see how the villa earned its name. A waterfall cascades down a 14m granite rock face right inside the villa, an intriguing ecological design feature that also forms a natural 7m indoor plunge pool with a natural stone bench to sit on beneath the falling water, a welcome respite from the tropical heat. The waterfall has two settings, torrent and shimmer. From here you can enjoy the panoramic views as well as enjoying a unique cinematic experience if you pull down the cleverly disguised projector screen.
The room benefits from a superb Bose Sound system and electronically controlled mood lighting. An elegant dining table comfortably seats up to six guests, behind which, on a raised level, you will find the well appointed modern western style kitchen. There is a further dining table on the balcony where you can dine with uninterrupted ocean views. This room has a comfortable seating area and a double bed that can be found on a lower level that is accessed by stone steps, beyond which you will find a small office area and a well appointed bathroom.
More steps from this level wind down to the lower level where you will find the comfortable lower bedrooms as well as a grass terrace with comfortable sun loungers and of course, a spectacular view.
The communal area of the development boasts a beautiful, salt water swimming pool and is a 100 metre level walk from the villa and with an unforgettable view and a jungle hillside trail that leads to
a beautiful yoga sala where regular yoga classes are held.
The property has private off road parking and is ideal for two couples sharing.
Due to its breathtaking hill side location the villa is not suitable for very young children or guests with walking difficulties. A 4 wheel drive car is required which we can arrange on your behalf.
